Production answer · label copy review

Why separate label copy review from label layout?

Separating fields and editions makes it clear whether a change affects meaning, identity, credit, or merely production. It also prevents a visual tweak from silently replacing approved source text.

Why this matters

The studio preserves body, identity, material, credit, source note, and internal production note as distinct fields, then escapes them into passive output.

A reviewable sequence

  1. Establish a responsible owner for every public field.
  2. Keep source and production notes out of guest-facing output.
  3. Compare a frozen edition after any bulk import.
  4. Repeat factual and community review outside the tool when meaning changes.
