Production answer · numbering
How does the studio handle duplicate display numbers?
Normalized duplicate display numbers are deterministic blockers because two objects should not silently point to the same public key in one project.
Why this matters
Numbers remain text rather than automatic integers, so a team can use a deliberate local scheme such as A1 or 04b while retaining exact punctuation.
A reviewable sequence
- Import or enter the team’s approved public number.
- Resolve collisions before generating a printer packet.
- Retest the association after any object move.
- Record re-numbering in a new review edition.
